Fort Amherst Healthcare, a subsidiary of Fort Amherst Properties, is an investment company headquartered in St. John’s focused on the development of high quality seniors housing and health care services. The company currently owns and operates approximately 350 suites across the province, consisting of both licensed personal care homes and independent living seniors apartments. Facilities under management include Bishops Gardens (St John’s), Westbury Estates (Southlands), Mountain View Retirement Centre (Corner Brook), and Macpherson Suites (St. John’s).

Housed in the historic former Bishops College and located in the very heart of downtown St. John’s, Bishops Gardens contains a 100-bed personal care home, 15 seniors apartments, The Neighbourhood Adult Day Program, and is the home for Eastern Health’s geriatric medical clinic.

Built on a Mountain in Corner Brook, the name of our amazing facility speaks for itself. Mountain View Retirement Centre overlooks the beautiful Bay of Islands and is nestled among the hills of rugged Long Range Mountains, which are a continuation of the Appalachian Mountain belt that is stretched all the way from Georgia in the Southern United States.

Located in Southlands with interior design inspired by Southern Shore roots, Westbury Estates contains a 100-bed personal care home with both semi-private and private suites to suit everyone’s needs.

St. John’s newest luxury apartment building. Located in the heart of St. John’s, these bright and contemporary suites are housed in the gorgeous heritage building previously known as Macpherson Elementary.

Macpherson features 31 stylish one- and two-bedroom suites that are just minutes from amenities such as grocery stores, physicians, and downtown retail. Designed by local interior design experts, Carvel & Helm, our apartments have been built with the utmost in style and functionality in mind.
